How Domain Transfers Work
HOW YOUR DOMAIN TRANSFER WORKS WITH YETI DOMAINS
Transferring a domain from Yeti Domains to your own account is simple and secure. Below is a clear step-by-step guide explaining what happens on our side and what you need to do on yours.
PART 1 – WHAT WE DO AFTER YOU PLACE AN ORDER
1. Order Received & Confirmed
You complete checkout and receive an instant confirmation email. Your domain is marked as sold and reserved solely for you.
2. We Prepare the Domain for Transfer
We unlock the domain, check WHOIS/contact data, and ensure it is ready for a smooth release.
3. We Request the Auth Code from Our Registrar
We request the secure EPP/Auth Code required to transfer your domain.
4. We Send You the Auth Code (Within 72 Hours)
We email (and optionally text) your unique auth code within 72 hours along with instructions.
5. Follow-Up Email & Call
We follow up by email and call to confirm you received the code and understand next steps.
PART 2 – WHAT YOU DO TO TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR DOMAIN
1. Choose Your Registrar
You can use any ICANN-accredited registrar including:

2. Start a “Transfer In” Request
Log in to your registrar and select “Transfer Domain” or “Transfer In.” Enter your new domain name.
3. Enter Your Auth Code
Paste the EPP/Auth Code we sent you. This verifies you are authorised to move the domain.
4. Confirm & Pay Registrar Transfer Fee
Most registrars charge a standard transfer/renewal fee. Pay this directly to them.
5. Approve Emails (If Required)
Some registrars send verification emails. Approve them to speed up transfer.
6. Wait for the Transfer to Complete
Transfers typically take 1–5 days depending on registrar processing.
7. Your Domain Appears in Your Account
Once complete, the domain moves into your registrar account. You now control DNS, hosting, email, redirects, and renewals.

• Day 0–3: We send your auth code (within 72 hours).

Check your spam folder. If still missing after 72 hours, contact us for an immediate resend.
What if the auth code doesn’t work?
We can regenerate and resend a new one and guide you through the process.
Can I change registrar later?
Yes. Once transferred, you may request a new auth code from your registrar and move it anytime.
